BARRIE BAR: KELSEY'S BARRIE

Last week I was doing some holiday shopping, and after a long, stressful day at the Georgian Mall, I ventured across the street to Kelsey's for a cold beer.

Kelsey's offers by far the coolest draft among all barrie bars. They have the sub zero draft taps for Coors Light and Canadian and it is so tasty. Although Kelsey's is not the most happening atmosphere among barrie bars, it is a good spot to grab some wings and nachos while sipping on the coolest draft in Barrie. In the bar, there are lots of TVs all positioned well so that everyone has a view of the game. Also, Kelsey's draft prices are pretty awesome too.

BARRIE BAR: MCREILLY'S BARRIE

The next barrie bar that will be reviewed is McReilly's Pub and Restaurant in Barrie. McReilly's is one of the only true pubs among barrie bars and offers a comforting and relaxing atmosphere if your in the mood for a couple of pints.

McReilly's offers some great food if you are in the mood for a bite to eat, as well as usually has some live acoustic entertainment going most nights. On Thursday nights, McReilly's is the only barrie bar that offers a open mic night. Usually you can count on some good, and also some bad performances, but rest assured you will be entertained.

BARRIE BAR: WILD WING BARRIE REVIEW

As you all know, I am a huge chicken wing enthusiast. I am always on the search for a new wing joint to watch the game at, or just to grab a couple of beers with my friends. A barrie bar that I enjoy grabbing wings at is Wild Wing Barrie.

Wild Wing Barrie has a great atmosphere if your in the mood to be social and have a couple cold pints. WIth over 100 different flavours of chicken wings, Wild Wing definitely offers the widest selection of wing flavours of any Barrie bar. With Wild Wing Barrie being so close to the Barrie Molson Centre, serves as a great Barrie bar to grab a couple beers with your buddies before the game.

Be sure to check out Wild Wing Barrie next time your in the mood for wings!

Until next time,

BLUE MOUNTAIN BAR: RUSTY'S AT BLUE

With all the snow we have gotten over the weekend, everyone is hoping for an awesome ski and snowboard season. Even if you are not a fan of the snow, you have to appreciate a weekend at a ski resort and getting out of the city atmosphere to get back in touch with nature. With every ski weekend, usually comes a good party weekend as well. For the best ski and party experience in Ontario, Blue Mountain in Collingwood is the place to be, and the place to be at Blue Mountain is Rusty's at Blue.

Rusty's at Blue is right at the base of Blue Mountain and offers some of the best pub grub in the village during the day, and transforms into party central once night time hits. Rusty's usually has a solid DJ playing music from top 40 to electronic and dance to keep the crowd moving! If you are a single girl or guy, Rusty's is the place to go to meet someone new on the dance floor.

Next time your planning a ski weekend be sure to head up to Blue Mountain and venture on over to Rusty's at Blue for a couple cold ones.

BARRIE BAR: THE QUEENS HOTEL REVIEW

Greetings!

So the holidays are quickly fast approaching, and always during this time of year I think of coming back from University and seeing all my friends 'out and about' on the town. One of the places I can always counting on seeing a good crowd of old friends is at The Queens Hotel in Barrie.

Everyone that grew up in Barrie has been a patron of The Queens Hotel at one point in their life. Whether it was gracing Queens dance side when you first started going out as a 19 year old, or venturing over to Queens Sportside once you were seen as being too old for dance side, we have all been there.

The Queens Hotel is still one of the staple bars of downtown Barrie. Tuesday nights are packed with students from Georgian College, and every weekend both dance side and sportside are filled with people ready to party!

Be sure to check out The Queens Hotel this holiday season!

BEER REVIEW: STEAM WHISTLE PILSNER REVIEW

Like every Sunday, I usually have a couple beers while watching NFL football. Today my beer of choice was Steam Whistle Pilsner, brewed down in Toronto, ON.

As I am usually not a pilsner fan, I was very surprised when I tasted Steam Whistle and how much I enjoyed it. The way that I describe Steam Whistle Pilsner is very crisp and having a nice kick of sweetness to it.

The other cool thing about Steam Whistle, is the awesome brewery tours that they offer and their sponsorship of cool social events such as the Embridge Ride to Conquer Cancer and Movember!

BARRIE BAR: MOXIES GRILL & BAR BARRIE REVIEW

It is usually pretty hard for me to find a reason to not enjoy a restaurant or bar, but yet again I have to vocalize my opinion regarding a bar that I just can't seem to enjoy. That place is Moxies Grill & Bar in Barrie.

The problem that I have with Moxies Grill & Bar is not the food, and it is not the drink menu. The food is pretty good, maybe slightly over priced and times, and Moxies Grill & Bar have a couple interesting beers on their menu. The biggest problem that I have with Moxies Grill & Bar is just the overall atmosphere. It is too stiff, and at times I feel the patrons are just a little too high on themselves. Sounds ridiculous to say that, but that is just who I am. I am a simple.

Hopefully, next post will be a little more upbeat and positive!
